December Sketch #15: 8.5x11

A fun and simple 8.5x11 sketch today...

Best Buddies
by Jennifer Stevens

I have had the honour of knowing Jenn for almost 2 years now and had the pleasure of working with Jenn as part of the Sweet Pea Designs design team. Jenn has also sponsored the So Sketchy Sista's twice in the last year with which I am so thankful to her and awesome talent of creating fun journaling jotters at Creative Chaos. I just love the way that she always looked at my sketches with a new light and took them and made them her own.

Make sure you check out Jen's Etsy shop, Creative Chaos. Wonderful page girl!

November Sketch #13: 12 x 12

This is the last official layout sketch for the month...

Precious Parts
by Nicole

For this beautiful layout by Nicole, I love the beautiful colour scheme, sweet photos and the distressing. I love that she has rotated 2 of her 4 photos. A fabulous use of the sketch Nicole!

"Combination"
by Jenn S.

I love Jenn's take on today's sketch. I love that she has used different sized photos and a large bold title. I like all the fun and colourful strips of journaling... a clever way to include a pop of colour! A beautiful page Jenn!

The Great Kitty Kat Adventure
by Zoe

I love that Zoe has used a unique shape instead of thelarge half circle within her design. I makes her title simply pop off of the page. I love that she has taken the number of photos down to 3 to include her beautiful distressed framed photos of her little girl. An adorable page Zoe!

November Sketch #7: 8.5 x 11

A weird 8.5x11 sketch today...

#1 Wrestler
by Jenn S.

I love that Jenn has taken this 8.5x11 sketch and stretched it out to fill her 12x12 page. By stretching it, she's allowed larger photos and more negative space too! I love where she has added all of her journaling too... so clever! Wonderful page Jenn!

October Sketch #8: 12x12

A fun sketch with some circles...

Organized Play
by Nicole

For Nicole's page I love that used 2 4x6 photos and just sized up the photo and journaling area to fit the photos that told her page's story. A super cute page Nicole!

Waiting for the School Bus
by Jenn S.

For Jenn's page, I love that she has used 3 photos for her page. She used the journaling space for her fabulous title and then used a simple journaling spot for her story. Fabulous layout Jenn!

October Sketch #6: 8.5x11

Here's a simple 8.5x11 page with 3 photos...

Dress Rehearsal
by Aphra

For Aphra's page, she has taken the top 2 photo squares and combined them to use one larger photo. She's taken the third photo space and shrunk it up for her journaling space. I just love all her fun glittery letters! Super scary page Aphra!

My Princess
by Zoe

For Zoe's adorable page, I love all the girlie touches to her page; the flowers, the pom pom ribbon and colours! I love that she took the last photo and replaced with her title block. A beautiful page Zoe!

Catch
by Jenn S.

For Jenn's layout, she rotated the sketch and took the mini squares and made them each a photo. Love that! I love that instead of creating a paper circle on her page, she stitched the circular line just like a baseball! So clever! Fabulous page Jenn!

October Sketch #3: 12x12

Here's a sketch made for a star...

Seven
by Jenn. S.

I love that Jenn really looked at this sketch in a different way. She took the star aspect and instead of building it into a paper layer, she took it and used it like an embellishment! So clever! She did take the basis of the photos from the sketch and moved them to the right. Awesome use of the sketch Jenn! Love those stitched stars!

September Sketch: 8.5 x 11

A wonderful 2 photo sketch today....

3 Months
by Jenn S.

Jenn has taken this simple 8.5x11 sketch and stretched it out to create her adorable 12x12 page. I love all the little circles she has added throughout her page. She's even stitched the large circle shape into her page instead of creating another layer of paper. Super cute page Jenn!

September Sketch: 12x12

A simple 2 photo sketch for you today....

Change
by Frances

For Frances' wonderful page, she took the 2 landscape oriented photos and rotated them to fit her portrait style photos. I love that cool school style font she used to match her layout's theme. A fabulous page Frances!

Keep It Real
by Jenn S.

I love that Jenn enlarged the design to incorporate her larger photos and her longer journaling. I just love that masculine feel to her page with the darker back ground and the cool patterned papers. Jenn has even used some of our sponsor's cool Sk8tor Boy Tickets in her design! Awesome layout Jenn!

September Sketch: 12x12

Here we are... the first sketch of September! Enjoy!

Trick or Sweet
by Nicole
For Nicole's fabulous page, I love that she included 3 photos and made room for journaling close to her photos. I'm lovin' those bright lime circles over the quilted effect of her patterned paper pieces. Gorgeous layout Nicole!

Library Love
by Jenn S.

For Jenn's page, I like the fact that she flip the sketch and then used the patterned paper pieces as her mini frames for her mini photos. Lovin' the colour scheme she used with her beautiful sepia photos too! Wonderful page Jenn! Jen has used some of the wonderful journaling jotters generously given to all our designers this month from Creative Chaos.

Oh Thank Heaven for Little Ones
by Jen B.

Awww... for this sweet page by Jen, I love the scalloped frame she added to her single photo page. That pop of lime green just brings that sweet photo of her son some wow facter! Beautiful and adorable page Jen!

The email for our guest designer position for September has gone out! Thank you to all the lovely ladies who submited their wonderful creations for the call. Stay tuned to find out who the lucky winner was later this month!

August Sketch: 8.5x11

Here's a fun sketch pointing you in the right direction...

Go Speed Racer
by Aphra

I love how Aphra has used the large arrow and incorporated it into her theme; racing! I think it's awesome that she took the strip of paper along the arrow and designed it in to a string of checkered flags! How clever! A super fun and creative layout Aphra!

TWO
by Jenn S.

For Jenn's adorable page, I love the fact that she used one of our sponsor's cute stamps; Katie Cupcake from the Little Paper Shop on her page! It fits perfectly into the theme about her neice's birthday photos. A super cute page Jenn!

August Sketch: 12x12

A sketch with lots of space to journal today...

Game Boys
by Jenn S.

For Jenn's page, she has first off taken the lower photo and divided into two separate photos to ensure she has all the photos to tell her layout's story. She's used a multitude of fun tags to place all of her journaling on. What a great masculine and fun page Jenn!

Sitting Pretty
by Frances

For Frances' page, she has minimized the sketch to fit only a portion of her page to allow for lots of white space. She's taken the 2 photos from the sketch and sized it to fit only one key photo. She's also used some cool buttons and trims to make up the strip elements above and belwo her photo. An adorable page Frances!

Birthday Present 2009
by Zoe

For Zoe's page, she has used one of our sponsor's cute little stamps, Katie Cupcake from the Little Paper Shop. She's even coloured the image's dress the same colour as her daughter's dress! I love that she has used a different edge instead of the scallop along the edge of her page. What great colours too! Fabulous layout Zoe!

August Sketch: 12x12

Another simple, linear sketch for you this month...

Pink Face
by Jenn S.

For this sketch Jenn has thought completely about photographs, as she has taken the negative space in the sketch and filled it up with 3 additional photos. Love this idea! Especially when you have more photos to tell your story than just one. She's taken the single line of stitching and also added an additional line at the base of the page. A wonderful page Jenn!

July Sketch: 24x12

We haven't had a double page sketch for awhile so I thought I'd throw this one in the mix...

Last Stand
by Jenn S.

I love Jenn's interpretation of this sketch! I love the label shaped journaling area instead of the long rectangle and I love that she's used a brochure from her trip tucked under the small photo on the right hand side of her page. Wonderful page Jenn!
